Chicago Flips Red To Protest Mayor Brandon Johnson'S $250 Birthday Fundraiser While City Crumbles
While Chicago families struggle with crime, corruption, and collapsing public schools, Mayor Brandon Johnson is selling $250 tickets to celebrate himself.
Chicago, IL -- Chicago Flips Red will be holding a protest outside Mayor Brandon Johnson's birthday fundraiser this Saturday, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 167 N. Green Street, Chicago, IL 60607 to demand accountability from a mayor who continues to ignore the real issues plaguing our city.
“The mayor’s priorities are crystal clear: his party comes before your safety, your kids, and your tax dollars,” said a spokesperson for Chicago Flips Red. “We’re done watching the city burn while politicians toast champagne.”
Mayor Johnson is raising money for himself while:
We have no replacement for ShotSpotter, leaving our neighborhoods more vulnerable to gun violence.
A permanent 720-bed shelter is forced onto Hyde Park without community consent.
A migrant shelter remains open on Cicero, straining resources while Chicagoans go without.
TIF money continues to be funneled into political pockets, not into the neighborhoods that need it.
Our public school students still can’t read, while the mayor’s office pushes ideology over literacy.
This isn’t leadership—it’s abandonment.
Chicago Flips Red is calling on residents from across the city and the state to join us in demanding real solutions, real safety, and real leadership.
Enough is enough. We’re showing up—and we’re not backing down.
